On 28th June, Nantong held Multinational Corporations Dialogue with Nantong·Auto Parts Special Event. Chinese-German Automobile Association and its member enterprises visited Nantong. Just three months ago, on 21st March, Multinational Corporations Dialogue with Nantong special event went to Shanghai. Nantong and representatives of multinational corporations in relevant fields and chambers of commerce (associations) in Shanghai talked about cooperation ‘face to face’.
Automobile and parts industry is one of the 16 advantageous industrial chains that Nantong has focused on cultivating. In recent years, focusing on new emerging automotive trends including electrification, intelligence, and networking, it has been steadily developing and accelerating in transformation. At present, a batch of globally renowned enterprises including Scania from Sweden and Bader from Germany have settled in Nantong. There are 230 automobile and parts above scale enterprises in Nantong. In 2024, the annual total output value exceeded 45 billion yuan, covering fields such as complete vehicles and modified vehicles, engine systems, chassis transmission systems, body systems, and electronic appliances.
It is worth noting that the five major automotive industry sectors in Nantong are developing in a coordinated manner.
Rugao has accelerated its development in the field of new energy vehicles with professional parks such as the Automobile and Parts Industrial Park and the Hydrogen Energy Industrial Park.
Chongchuan focuses on internet of vehicles and intelligent connected vehicle industry, and has formed series of innovation achievements in fields such as on-board unit and drive-by-wire chassis.
Tongzhou has formed two major industries: automotive die casting and automotive electronics. Several multinational automotive parts companies from Europe, the United States and Japan have gathered in Nantong Economic & Technological Development Area and Su-Xi-Tong Industrial Park.
In the past few years, industrial cooperation and economic and trade exchanges between Nantong and Germany have been increasingly close. 107 German-invested enterprises have settled in Nantong. A batch of German-invested enterprises such as Merck, Symrise and BASF have rapidly developed and expanded in Nantong.
